Tennis Program Schedule - Summer - Junior

Junior

QUICKSTART TOTS
The first introduction to tennis for children ages 4 & under. Parents are welcome on court to assist their child as they become familiar with tennis. Focus is on motor skill progression, eye-hand coordination, throwing, catching and running.

Quickstart Level 1 (ages 5 & under)
This level continues the familiarity with tennis and all motor skills needed to develop tennis. Basic motor skills including throwing, catching, running and racquet swinging become more emphasized. Players will be expected to pay attention and follow directions without parents on court. Racquet skills, serving, drop hits and rallying are learned.

Quickstart Level 2 (ages 6 & under)
Racquet skills, serving, drop hits and rallying become more emphasized now that motor skills have been developed. The ability to pay attention, follow directions without parents on court is key to development.

Quickstart Tennis Level 3 (ages 8 & under)
This level intensely reviews skills from Level 1 & 2 and introduces fundamental tennis tactics and strategy. Moving away from the foam ball and smaller 36" court, this level switches to the low compression balls and 60" court and larger racquets. Emphasis is on full swing mechanics, rallying and footwork.

Junior Development
An excellent program for those 8-13 year olds who are just starting tennis. Emphasis will be placed on form and control. Students will be introduced to volleys, serves and ground strokes.

Junior Match Prep (Membership Required)
For those who have excelled through the Junior Development class and have been recognized for their exceptional attitude, desire, and stroke development. This class emphasizes more competitive skill building by learning basic patterns and strategies.

This is a systematic program for Juniors that have completed Junior Development or who have been selected directly to enter the Match Prep Program.

High School (Membership Required)
A program designed for Juniors playing in local tournaments or on their high school team. This program strives to strengthen basic skills needed for district level competition with emphasis on high school tennis team. The main objective of this program is for the students to have the ability to compete at the high school varsity level successfully.

Tennis & Swim Camp-Summer 2014
This camp is a great way for your child to learn or improve their tennis skiils! Each camp day will consist of tennis instruction and play, swim lessons and free swim. Lunch can be purchased for an additional cost at the snack bar. Registration can be daily, weekly or by session. Camp begins Monday, June 9. Full and half day options are available as well as before and after camp to accommodate busy summer schedules! Register at the Front Desk. Full Day: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Half Day: 9:00 am - Noon & Noon - 3:00 pm

Quickstart Level 4 (ages 10 & under)
Level moves towards the yellow green dot ball. At this level, players should be serving, returning, hitting ground strokes and having the desire to become a more serious tennis player. Opportunities for more advanced programs will be discussed with your tennis pro.
